A stay at On the Hill in Raposeira is truly a home away from home. We had an amazing time here, with the opportunity to relax and unwind in a peaceful atmosphere. the house is cozy and comfortable, and the outdoor areas are simply stunning. Martin, the host, was incredibly helpful and friendly, providing us with great advice on things to do and places to visit. We also made new friends during our stay, which made it even more enjoyable. If you're looking for a chilled, friendly vibe in the Algarve, this is the perfect place to stay. We hope to return for more fun, surfing, and good conversations over a glass of red wine.
Nothing not to love! ✨️

Nestled in a secluded location, Hostel On The Hill provided the perfect retreat for our family. The range of activities offered, such as surf lessons, dolphin watching, and mountain biking, kept our children entertained and excited throughout our stay. The friendly hosts, Martin and Ronja, were incredibly helpful in recommending the best spots to explore and ensuring our family had an unforgettable experience in Raposeira. The hostel's serene atmosphere and stunning views provided the ideal backdrop for relaxation and quality family time. Highly recommended for families seeking a peaceful getaway!
For dads, it would be great if the hostel offered a small children's play area.

Loved the hostel's garden with BBQ and hammocks! So social, I could eat and chat with other guests. Activities galore in the area. Breakfast and homemade dinner upon request, yum!
Oh, how I enjoyed how far the nearest airport was from the hostel. Such an adventure!

Sat on a hammock, enjoying my meal while socializing in the large garden - felt like I was at a fancy BBQ party! Also, had a blast with the range of activities offered in the area. So much fun!
Oh, how I loved navigating through the tile/marble floor of the dormitory. It was like playing a real-life game of "Don't step on the cracks.

I loved how the hostel offers a "large garden with a barbecue and hammocks." Because nothing says relaxation like listening to strangers chew their food while swinging next to them.
Who needs activities when you have the option to just stare at the walls of your dormitory with "tile/marble floor" all day long. So thrilling.

Quiet and charming location, convenient for exploring Sagres and Lagos by car. Clean and well-organized with helpful hosts. Authentic feel, a refreshing change from typical surf hostels. Can't wait to return one day.

First off, let me say that I got very nice value for my money at this hostel. The room was clean, cozy, and equipped with everything I needed. The location was perfect, nestled in a calm area with beautiful beaches just a short drive away. The staff, especially Martijn, was friendly and accommodating, making me feel welcome. I also appreciated their helpful advice on nearby events and attractions.
When it comes to breakfast offerings, I would have liked to see a bit more variety. Although the owner prepared breakfast for those who needed to leave early, adding some additional options to the menu would have been great.

our stay in raposeira this summer was amazing! we were blown away by the comfortable beds at on the hill. the quality of the mattresses surpassed any other hostel we stayed at in portugal. the friday 'portuguese tapas' meal was a pleasant surprise with delicious food and drinks at a great price. definitely recommending to friends!
no car needed for a relaxing summer getaway!

Loved the socializing area with the hammocks and barbecue, perfect for pretending I know how to cook. The homemade dinner option was a hit, even though I secretly wished someone else could cook for me every night.
Oh, how I treasured the opportunity to wash dishes after breakfast. Nothing beats scrubbing plates while on vacation.

The hostel has a pleasant atmosphere and the friendly host ensures a relaxed vibe. the kitchen is well-equipped and there is a tasty restaurant nearby. the staff is helpful and the beds are comfortable. the A/C is strong and the building is clean. the bathroom upstairs is described as magical.
Walking to the nearest shop, bus stop, or beach may take some time as the hostel is located far from everything.

The room was cozy and comfortable, and I felt right at home. The location was perfect, with beautiful beaches just a short ride away. The owners, Ronja and Martijn, were friendly and helpful, making me feel welcome. They even had a little shop in the house, convenient since there isn't a supermarket in the village.
When it comes to breakfast selection, it would have been great to have more options.
